I remember the first time I rode the Monster. I was only 7. Immediately, it became my favorite ride and it has since been one of my favorites. It really has the great feel of an old-fashioned coaster. For instance, the train cars are nice and smug and give you a great feeling of fear as you enter. The lift hill is immediately griddy as the riggedness of the chain sends a chill up one's spine. As you reach the top, you get a little dip before one of the greatest air-time hills ever. What follows is an insane course of twists, turns, loops, and a heart-pounding tunnel sequence; it's easy to see why this was considered the bad boy back in '78 (and frankly, I feel it should still be considered top notch today). In all, Loch Ness Monster is a MUST RIDE if you ever go to BGW. Everyone must experience the nostalgia, thrills, and story of this world-class coaster.
