Looping coaster

Minimum height:

A classic looping steel coaster built by Arrow (as infamous for their awkward track transitions as they are famous for their legacy coasters), this blazing yellow monster dives through the forests of Scotland and down to the surface of the Rhine River below. A triple-helix in a cave and the world's only interlocking loops make it a signature ride.

I remember the first time I rode the Monster. I was only 7. Immediately, it became my favorite ride and it has since been one of my favorites. It really has the great feel of an old-fashioned coaster. For instance, the train cars are nice and smug and give you a great feeling of fear as you enter. The lift hill is immediately griddy as the riggedness of the chain sends a chill up one's spine. As you reach the top, you get a little dip before one of the greatest air-time hills ever. What follows is an insane course of twists, turns, loops, and a heart-pounding tunnel sequence; it's easy to see why this was considered the bad boy back in '78 (and frankly, I feel it should still be considered top notch today). In all, Loch Ness Monster is a MUST RIDE if you ever go to BGW. Everyone must experience the nostalgia, thrills, and story of this world-class coaster.
