Hmm i actually didnt find this ti be the case at all. Why does everyone need to be on their phone constantly for everything. Put the damn thing down occasionally. Yes the myexperience app does need to be checked but damn do you have to live on it? Was just at disney for a week and didnt feel the need to be on my phone looking at maps constantly. You know, they do still offer *gasp* paper maps you can use.

The charging lockers are gone. I don't know if they'll come back.

I just came back from Disney world, I used this app the whole time and didn't have any problems with the battery on my phone dying. I even did a a 14 hour day at the Magic Kingdom :/

This app will not work on my Lg G3 phone. I get a message saying "your device isn't compatible with this version" What's up with this?? I leave in 21 days and really need this app

I love how these articles always use an iPod for the story. iPod is ancient. Buy a Samsung phone and have the ability to swap your battery with a spare; plus it offers more. Better yet. Buy an Anker extended battery pack and your phone can last for 3-5 days without a charge. Who wants to carry extra garbage in the pak to plug in to your phone so you can charge it on the fly-? Dahaha

I read on one of the Disney boards that they will be discontinuing the pay-to-charge option at WDW. I haven't heard at DL, but it won't be available at WDW for much longer, if it still is an option at this time.

Just came back from 9 day trip and had no battery issues on my Samsung Galaxy S5. Never had to charge during the day and we were in the park until 2 am on 2 occasions.

Another convenient option, albeit an expensive one, is the TYLT backpack. It has one gigantic power pack and three charge ports that you can plug your iPhone, tablet or android into. It will set you back around $200, but it's been a lifesaver for our trip to WDW/universal.

My wife and myself do not own iphones, we currently have the Samsung Galaxy 3S. We have an extra battery that we use when we travel. Very easy, in that you just pull the back cover off, take out the battery and put the other one in.

Had no issues on a 10 day trip using an iPhone 5. I bought an external battery just in case and never had to use it. I also used my phone as an additional camera, uploaded and shared pics, amongst other things during the day as well.

There will be four smartphones in my party, all connected to My Disney Experience. If someone loses charge, can't one of the others take over?

ALSO another completely FREE option is going to Guest Relations at any park(at least at WDW, can't speak for DL)... You give your phone to a Cast Member, they set it to charge, and give you an "Hold Article" ticket. You just return like an hour later with your ticket, they match it to the proper phone, and voila! Most of the time you don't even need your charger, they have a charging station at the desk or in the back room! :)

There are a variety of light weight solar battery chargers that have USB and Lightning capabilities. It can charge your phone while you're sitting having a meal, or enjoying outside attractions. Mine has a clip that can be attached to my backpack on the outside, cabled to my iPhone or iPad mini on the inside. Good luck!

Good to know. We go regularly. We were there last Halloween but this app wasn't ar round then. We will be returning this year and I will be be prepared.

Mophie is fantastic. Had one for the iPhone and now for my S4. Never lose a picture or battery and we do 17 hour days. Well worth the cost.

Or you can just buy a phone with a decent battery life to begin with. I have made the trip with two different android phones and have never had an issue.

That's all good and all but you shold look into this all day power and watter on board for the hot Sumer days in Disney world http://www.festival-gear.com/store/p1/GoPax_Solar_Panel_Backpack.html

We do! Thank you very much :) our solar hydration backpacks are on sale now! Festival-Gear :)

My wifi IPad usually has no issues with power. I try not to use the phone app because of the free wifi in the park. My phone also uses less power when connected to the wifi since it doesn't need to be constantly on the data network.

I'f you're not on an i-Leash and have a phone where the battery can be removed, you can buy an extra battery or buy an extra size battery 3x and go all day in the park and still end with an 80% change.

Is that not the same thing as buying a battery back for the iPhone. Oh yea, actually it is. Funny, huh.
