I get the *need* for an update of CoP, but how fun is a scene with the whole family staring at their smartphones not speaking. That's life these days it seems.

They should get Snoop Dog to narrate the Carousel of progress. Everyone would have to go check it out then.

How about fixing the water pump in C.O.P! Every time they talk about not having to prime the pump it's supposed to pump out water. There hasn't been any water coming out of it for years! Also, I read that the last scene will likely never get upgraded because the ride is about the 20th century and that last scene represents the 1990s.

If Sassagoula's menu is getting an overhaul, let me recommend New Orleans-based food items. The bread they use for po-boys is nowhere near right :) The gift shop is on the right track with its food offerings.

Also, an upgrade to Carousel's ending would be welcome in today's world of smartphones and 3D TV, but it would mean re-recording the show and losing Jean Shepherd's narration.

I love Disneyworld, but what I'm about to say needs to be said. The Carousel of Progress sucks. There, I said it. It officially goes too far back in time. I'm 40 and I can only somewhat relate because my grandmother who died 20 years ago (in her mid-80s!) told me stories about her childhood (no TV, no appliances, no running water). My daughter's grandmother (aka my mother) grew up with most of the conveniences of today. Oh sure, thems were hard times back when TVs couldn't stream YouTube over Wi-Fi... but she had the original Monty Python... and I had the syndicated reruns... not as rough as growing up without indoor plumbing, am I right?! ;o)

Good to know about the Dinosaur ride. That's my fave attraction at Animal Kingdom. Will have to make sure to ride it before it's very long refurbishment!

Big Thunder will also be closed from August 8 to November 18, which I'm bummed about since I'll be there in early October.
