Review

In 2010 I was allowed to drive my children through the safari in the family minivan. They loved that the close-up experience with the animals. I was disappointed that now, in 2017 that experience is no longer available. However, the animals are stil there but it is now the "Safari Off Road Adventure." On one hand it was nice that we had an enthusiastic guide to point out the animals although it was a little hard to hear what she was saying over the roar of the vehicle engine and the wind blowing through the vehicle. At one point we noticed that the leg of one of the animals was injured as it was limping along. Several of us tried to bring it to the attention of the tour guide. When she finally understood what were were saying, she replied that there was staff that regularly checked the animals and they would take care of it. There was also a Bison laying in the dirt with an open wound with flies. All the other animals were fine and interesting. One Osterich was doing his dance to woo the female. Peacocks were keeping still to have their photos taken. When the ride came to the half way point the guide informed everyone that they could get off to fee giraffe. It sounded like a good idea until you saw the REALLY long line of people waiting for an empty seat to get back to the park. DON'T DO IT. If you do you may be waiting for a while to get a seat to get back to the park. While it was nice to see the animals I would not do this again. It was tooooo long.
