Themed around Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, Adventure Wonderland is a small family theme park located near Bournemouth in the UK. The park's headline attraction is the aztec-themed adventure play area Wild Thing!, and it is also home to a range of flat rides and the Wild Bill's Runaway Train roller coaster. Children's TV characters, including Peppa Pig, make occasional appearances during special events.
History: The park opened in 1992 as Alice in Wonderland Park, with the headline attraction being Britain's third-largest hedge maze. After a steady decade of expansion, the first large-scale addition to the newly-renamed Adventure Wonderland was the Wild Thing! play area. Opened at a cost of £1 million, the indoor attraction operates all year-round, while the rest of the park is closed during the winter.
