Holiday World has begun testing Mammoth, the record-breaking water coaster that is due to open at its Splashin' Safari water park on May 11, 2012.
With just a week to go until Mammoth's public debut, the park has released a video that shows off the full ride experience from the perspective of a test dummy. The new addition will become the longest water coaster in the world, breaking the record set by Holiday World's own Wildebeest in 2010.
Mammoth's 1,763-feet-long circuit sprawls over a total of 3 acres in Splashin' Safari. The ride begins with a 53-feet, 45-degree drop, followed by a series of 5 further hills. Linear inductions motors are used to propel the 6-seater boats uphill and through a series of twists and turns.
