Hong Kong Disneyland is set to become first the Disney theme park to install a Marvel-themed land, featuring attractions based on the comic book firm's super hero characters.

Disney acquired Marvel in a $4 billion deal in September 2009, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry. With the deal came the rights to iconic characters such as Spiderman and The Incredible Hulk, which Disney hoped would increase its appeal with teenage boys.

The precise nature and scale of the new land has yet to be revealed, and it is not yet clear whether it will feature any new rides or attractions.
