Key Information
Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach's signature attraction first opened in 1932, and is currently the only operational scenic railway in the UK. The wooden roller coaster races around a timber circuit, hitting a top speed of around 45 miles per hour at the base of its largest 51-foot drop. Unusually, the actual speed is controlled by a brakeman, who rides in the train itself. Surprisingly for such an old ride, the ride experience is not too rough and the Roller Coaster is an essential part of a visit to the park.
