Aquanura at EftelingSubmitted by Nick on Wednesday, September 05, 2012 19:42
Efteling launched a new €19 million show dubbed Aquanura on May 31, 2012, which became the third largest water display in the world. Aquanura is similar in style to World of Color at Disney California Adventure and the famous water show at the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas. Both feature powerful fountains that are synchronised to music, and have proven to draw huge crowds. The company behind the Bellagio's fountains, Water Entertainment Technologies (WET), worked on the design and installation of Efteling's new show.
Four viewing areas are situated around its Vonderplas lake to hold the audience for Aquanura. The show is based around the themes of the rides and attractions at the park, and features a strong focus on the Frog Prince fairy tale.
While the main 10-minute show is performed nightly, the Aquanura fountains also perform shorter shows throughout the day that are synchronised to an original musical score.
