I would rather stay at Port Orleans, Riverside, Alligator Bayou than any Disney Resort - second runner-up, the Wilderness Lodge, simply because of the boat. The grounds are lush and beautiful. It feels like Fort Wilderness without the campers. The scent of the air when you walk out of your room is that of pure nature. There are small pools with tadpoles and minnows along the scenic walk-ways. There are beautiful trees everywhere with moss dripping down. The scenery is stunning. Walking over the bridge is a sensory delight. Bring your camera. Crossing over the bridge, you come to a fishing hole - go early when the fish are biting. It feels like you might have gone back in time. My grandchildren loved the pool and waterslide. The food court has tons of selections. The full service restaurant is top notch - great evening entertainment. One of my favorite things is the boat ride to Disney Springs. Not only is it convenient, but the ride is lovely. Other resorts may be more plush, but nothing can compare to the grounds here. I love the Wilderness Lodge, but the grounds here make this a better choice.
