I like this coaster for the most part, its a classic "out and back" style coaster with 2 sides that race......SOMETIMES. Thunder road has been thru a lot of changes over the years, there was a time when the trains were modeled after classic cars. later one side went forward and the other train on the 2nd side went backwards. when cedar fair took over the park both sides were turned to go forwards for a "unknown" reason.

a few things..... most of the time the operators are trying to dispatch the trains so fast that they rarely wait for the other side to be ready so if you get to race the other train count yourself lucky.The track due to age and such has gotten quite rough, but the park has been rebuilding the track section by section during the off season to fix the roughness but they still have a bit to go.

TIP: ride on the silver train, the track on that side has been refurbished the most and is the smoothest, but its still will bang you up at the end
