Would it be too much to say that the ride is better than the film series? Although I am a fan of the first two films in this highly-entertaining series, I never expected this ride to be as fantastic as it ended up being. In addition to Islands of Adventure, this is where Universal really stepped it up in terms of themed attractions. While it has the "film set" set-up like many of the rides in the park, the theming is immersive, in the queue, and especially on the ride. It has shades of Indiana Jones Adventure with the adrenaline turned up a few notches. This is the sort of ride that boasts a great story and great thrills, reaching a wide demographic of both theme park fans and thrill seekers. While it replaced a signature ride (Kongfrontation) I think the quality and execution of this ride has made it a new classic in the Universal canon.
