While many of the rides across the four parks at Walt Disney World have been there since Day 1, many of them are able to stay current thanks to nostalgia or something memorable. Norway's Maelstrom Boat Ride provides a bit of both. It shows its age pretty much immediately in the boarding station, where we see a very-80s mural on the wall of "Norwegian" things like beards and fish. But you're able to enjoy yourself on this ride based on how it unintentionally embraces where it stands. Plus, in a park with so few rides, it's lovely to just enjoy a good, old-fashioned, Disney-character-free dark ride.
