Halloween Horror Nights, Universal

UPDATE March 18 - There has been a lot of excitement this week from Universal fans as we have seen the first version of the speculation map for Halloween Horror Nights for both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood released by Horror Night Nightmares.

As can be seen in the speculation maps which are embedded below, there still seems to be a lot of uncertainty around what we could and could not see at this years event.

From the Universal Orlando Resort speculation map it looks like there is a symbol to represent the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 vehicle as had already been rumored. There seems to be two top speculations regarding the muted speaker symbol. One is based on A Quiet Place: Day One which is set to be released in late June and appears to be the most likely. The other one being floated in Silence of the Lambs. Other speculations based on the map include Five Nights At Freddy's and Beetlejuice.

The Universal Studios Hollywood speculation map also has the Ghostbusters and muted speaker symbol. We shall bring you further updates on what is coming to Halloween Horror Nights 33 as confirmation is made by Universal in the coming weeks and months.

March 7 -  At the beginning of this week we were all bubbling with excitement over the rumor that this years Halloween Horror Nights may have 2 extra haunts meaning a total of 12. This speculation came about as a result of Universal filing to erect two new sprung tents (see below).

Now, according to Screamscape it appears that these two new sprung tents will replace haunt space which has been lost elsewhere in the park. Namely, the parade float building which will not be available to use this year as it will be occupied by the floats for the upcoming new parade.

Whilst this is disappointing news, we still eagerly await news of exactly what we can expect from this years Halloween Horror Nights. We also think that after the extreme crowds experienced in 2023 that Universal will have to think carefully regarding how to potentially increase capacity and we will keep you posted on further details as they materialise.

March 5, 2024 - We come to this time of the year and horror fans are already eager to hear news regarding the upcoming event of the year at Universal Orlando Resort, Halloween Horror Nights.

After Halloween Horror Nights 2023 was one for the record books with Frequent Fear Passes selling out mere days into the event and its extended run until November 4, we already predicted change was coming, 5 Rumors About 2024's Halloween Horror Nights We Can't Ignore.

Now, further rumor and speculation is beginning to appear surrounding this years event. Back at the end of February, Universal Orlando filed permits for two new Halloween Horror Nights sprung tents as can be seen in the post added to X by Behind The Thrills.

It looks like this years Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort could be bigger than 2023 with 12 rather than the usual 10 haunts available to guests. With the event being more and more crowded each year, an addition of two extra haunts is definitely much needed.

The plans show the addition of two new 7200sqft buildings labeled Sprung 3 and Sprung 4 which are bigger than the existing Sprung 1 and Sprung 2 tents in the same area.

According to Screamscape, we could also see the existing Fast and Furious immersive tunnel experience at Universal Studios Florida becoming a temporary extra haunt for this years Halloween Horror Nights.

With the expected removal of the temporary building which has housed a smaller haunted house each year along with the demolition of the former Fear Factor show venue an extra haunt will certainly be much needed to help with capacity. The Fast and Furious immersive tunnel experience would certainly be an ideal potential contender. We await confirmation from Universal on this.

We still eagerly await confirmation of exactly which haunts will be coming to Halloween Horror Nights 2024. Could we see Five Nights at Freddy's in the Blumhouse house? Could we see a return of Jack The Clown? We will keep you updated as we head towards the highlight of the year for many, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort.
