Darkoaster, Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens Williamsburg has now confirmed that their newest attraction, DarKoaster: Escape the Storm will officially open on May 19 with member previews beginning May 11.When it does open it will be North America's first all-indoor straddle coaster.

The characters from the original Curse of Darkastle attraction have been reimagined including the legendary King Ludwig and we get to see the second chapter of this story which also includes a new musical score. A number of Easter eggs from the old attraction can be enjoyed both in the queue and on the ride itself.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg have worked with Intamin to create this family-friendly dark ride experience which pays homage to the former interactive dark ride and includes four launches. Vice President of Attraction Design & Development,  Jeff Hornick gives us an inside look at this new attraction in a newly released video.

Back in February, the park opened a temporary Preview Center to showcase everything this new coaster has to offer. The walk-through preview center opened at Busch Gardens Williamsburg on February 18 and will be open every weekend from 12:30PM to 5PM.

This first all-indoor straddle coaster in North America and features ride vehicles that resemble snowmobiles. The coaster will also include four launches, snow, and 3D effects. While the coaster will only reach speeds of 36 miles per hour, the darkness of the indoor track will certainly make the coaster feel much faster. Here is a preview of DarKoaster: Escape the Storm.
