Magic Kingdom, Disney

It seems to be one price hike after another at Walt Disney World at the moment. In mid-October, Disney announced that Genie+ Lightning Lane was moving to variable pricing and Annual Passes are increasing in price. In mid-November Disney revealed that Walt Disney World tickets are also going up in price.

This new price increase for Walt Disney World tickets starts today (December 8). According to CNN, it appears that prices will rise for majority of the tickets on offer including for single and multi-day passes.

Disney has made the decision to keep tickets for Disney's Animal Kingdom the same as it is which we assume is due to the fact the park has not seen a new big attraction in recent years. Magic Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT will all see a hefty rise. Here are the current ticket price ranges which will be in effect from today:

  • Magic Kingdom Park: $124-$189
  • Disney's Hollywood Studios: $124-$179
  • EPCOT: $114-$179
  • Disney's Animal Kingdom: $109-$159

As you can see, we now have park specific, varied-price tickets depending on the day of your visit. The highest priced tickets are only expected on the busiest dates in the next couple of months e.g. around Christmas and New Year. On a positive note, those guests purchasing a single-day ticket without Park hopping will not have to get a Parks Reservation for that day. All other tickets will still require a Parks Reservation.

We already reported on the increased price for Annual Passes. When they do come back on sale these will be the prices, Incredi-Pass $1399 (was £1299), Sorcerer $969 (was $899) and Pirate Pass $749 (was $699) . The Pixie Pass will remain the same as it currently is, at $399. We are not expecting the  Incredi-Pass, Sorcerer Pass or the Pirate Pass to be available to new passholders until 2023. They are currently only able to be renewed.

Despite what seems to be the endless rising of prices, Disney fans are still flocking to Walt Disney World and we expect the Festive season to be as busy as ever. Our best wishes to you all!
