Epic Universe, Universal

UPDATE November 5 - When Epic Universe opens as Universal Orlando Resort's third gate in Summer 2025 we expect a Classic Monsters Land to be one of the highlights. Earlier this week we heard a rumor regarding the possible names for the attractions.

The big E-ticket dark ride is currently expected to be called “Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment” and the new spinning coaster is expected to be named “The Curse of the Werewolf”. The European themed village itself will be named, "Village of Darkmoor".

Now, it is important to note that we have not had official confirmation on these names but it looks likely that we are going to see Frankenstein and Werewolf featuring at Epic Universe. During our poll earlier this year we asked you, Which Universal Classic Monster Do You Want To See At Epic Universe? Here are the results:

  • Dracula - 33%
  • Frankenstein - 29%
  • The Wolf Man - 12%
  • The Creature From The Black Lagoon - 26%

Based on the rumored names for the headlining attractions in the proposed Classic Monsters Land it looks like the 29% of fans who voted for Frankenstein will be happy but so far there has been no mention of Dracula being included. We eagerly await news of the confirmed monsters which will be inhabitaing this highly anticipated rumored land at Epic Universe. We will keep you up to date with all the latest news from Epic Universe on our news and Facebook page. If you haven't voted in our poll to let us know which classic Universal monster you would like to see included then you still have chance below.

February 5 - With the Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida currently undergoing a lengthy refurbishment, Universal made the decision to install a temporary Tribute Store based on its Classic Monsters.

'A Tribute To The Creatures Of The Night' opened on January 28 to a massively positive response. It is located in the Revenge of the Mummy exit gift shop and will remain until the attraction reopens at the end of the Summer at which point the space will become the refreshed 'Sahara Traders'.

It was certainly a great idea to use this space as a Tribute store to Universal's Classic Monsters and it is proving very popular with guests. It is also an excellent opportunity for Universal to work out which Classic Monsters are fan favorites. We now know that Epic Universe will open ready for Summer 2025 and we found out in 2021 that there are plans for a whole land dedicated to Universal's Classic Monsters.

With there being so much talk about Classic Universal Monsters we thought we would do our own research and find out which is YOUR favorite?

You may find the results slightly surprising...

RESULTS

We gave you a large choice and here are the results:

  • The Mummy - 6%
  • The Invisible Man - 1%
  • Frankenstein - 6%
  • Dracula - 22%
  • The Creature From The Black Lagoon - 13%
  • The Wolf Man - 26%
  • Beetlejuice - 10%
  • Jack The Clown - 1%
  • The Phantom of the Opera - 8%
  • The Bride of Frankenstein - 5%

So, it was a very close call between Dracula and Wolf Man and as you can see, the winner is Wolf Man. A great monster undoubtedly but to me I thought Dracula or Frankenstein would have been the victor. It is great to see all Classic Monsters have votes and the Classic Monsters land in Epic Universe is sure to be a favorite with fans when it opens. Do you agree with the winner?
