Halloween Horror Nights, Universal

UPDATE October 14 - The popular show, Ghoulish! has not returned since the theme park closures due to Hurricane Ian at the end of September. It sustained severe damage during the storm and initially it was thought that the show would not return to Halloween Horror Nights 31. There was then a tweet from Universal (seen below) which said the teams were working hard to get Ghoulish! up an running again as soon as possible but now the latest rumor online is that this is not going to happen and the show will not return to this years event.

Screamscape has reported that according to a source, Universal has confirmed internally that the show will not return this year. There still hasn't been an official announcement on the fate of Ghoulish! and the show does remain listed on the official Universal Halloween Horror Nights website page. Whatever happens with the show this year, we are expecting to see this very popular show returning to Halloween Horror Nights next year! We will keep you updated on further updates when they are announced on our news and Facebook page.

October 7 - At the beginning of this week we thought the fate of the popular show, Ghoulish at Halloween Horror Nights, had been sealed as we reported that Ghoulish would not be returning to the event after severe damage from Hurricane Ian. Well, we have now heard on the official Universal Orlando Resort twitter account that there may be hope for the return of Ghoulish after all.

There appears to have been an outcry from unhappy Halloween Horror Nights fans at the news that Ghoulish would not return and Universal seems to have listened as yesteday they posted a tweet which is embedded below.

We are currently unsure of the timeline for the potential return of Ghoulish and if indeed the show will return exactly as it was but it is certainly great news for Halloween Horror Nights fans that this very popular show may return. It has also been announced that Halloween Horror Nights will take place on two extra nights, Tuesday, October 11 and Monday, October 24 which we assume are replacement dates for the missed shows due to Hurricane Ian.

October 3 - It was inevitable that certain attractions would take a hit from Hurricane Ian as it moved over Orlando last week. It has been reported by Screamscape that the popular show Ghoulish which is part of the Halloween Horror Nights event this year has been badly damaged.

As a result of this damage, Ghoulish will not be available for the rest of the Halloween Horror Nights events this year. This is disappointing news for the guests who were hoping to see it during October. A video of Ghoulish is embedded below.

Ghoulish was a new show for Halloween Horror Nights 31 and took place on Universal Studios Lagoon following the Grim Reaper.

Another attraction which hasn't reopened yet since the theme park closures due to Hurricane Ian is Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. We assume this is due to damage from the storm and are hoping to hear of a reopening date soon.

Were you lucky enough to see Ghoulish at Halloween Horror Nights 31 this year? Let us know your thoughts about this popular show by leaving us a comment below or on our Facebook page. Hopefully we will see Ghoulish return for Halloween Horror Nights 2023.
