Walt Disney World kicked off their 50th Anniversary celebrations on October 1, 2021. It was always promised to be an 18-month long event and Disney has now officially announced that the celebration with end on March 31, 2023.

Now, with the news that the event will end on March 31, 2023 it leaves us to ask the question, will TRON Lightcycle / Run open before March 31, 2023 or after? We were always expecting this highly anticipated new roller coaster at Disney's Magic Kingdom to open during the event but will Disney decide to open it just before the celebrations finish or as something for guests to look forward to after?

Although construction is progressing well and human testing began last week, there still seems to be a considerable amount of work to be done. Not only are we waiting for TRON Lightcycle / Run to open but we are all very eager to hear when the Walt Disney World RailRoad will finally reopen after last being available to guests at the end of 2018!

What we do now know for certain is that if you are hoping to visit Walt Disney World during the 50th Anniversary celebrations then you have until March 31, 2023 to do so!
