4. Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 (EPCOT)
Dates: June 17 - TBA 2022
Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 attraction which is located in the Canada Pavilion in the World Showcase is now closed temporarily. The reason for this closure is for a limited time marketplace to be erected for the International Food & Wine Festival which kicked off on July 14 and will run through November 19, 2022.
We are unsure if Disney will take this opportunity to carry out a refurbishment on the attraction. We will update you on an official reopening date for Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 when it is announced.
5. Enchanted Tales with Belle (Magic Kingdom)
Dates: Now - TBA
One of the biggest attractions that has yet to return to operation after Walt Disney World's shutdown is Enchanted Tales with Belle. And though this attraction is still listed as temporarily unavailable on Walt Disney World's official website, late last year Disney filed a permit for “general construction”, which could mean that work is being done inside this attraction to get it ready for a reopening in the near future.
Nothing has been confirmed yet and the attraction is still stating 'No times available' on the official calendar up until July 30, but with so many entertainment options reopening in 2022, it would be unfortunate if Enchanted Tales With Belle was left out, especially since it sounds like work is going on at this attraction behind the scenes.
6. Walt Disney World Railroad (Magic Kingdom)
Dates: Now - TBA
Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since the beginning of 2019 and though there haven't been any official updates on the refurbishment of this attraction, with the delay of the TRON Lightcycle / Run, it looks like this refurbishment could last for some time longer. Currently there is no opening date projected for this attraction, but it has been predicted that this new ride will likely open as part of Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebrations, which are set to conclude in March 2023. Last month Disney released a video on TikTok of the Walt Disney World Railroad which could hint at a reopening soon which means we hopefully haven't got too much longer to wait until the Walt Disney World Railroad rolls again.
Though it has been several years since the Walt Disney World Railroad has operated, Disney has shared an image of newly refurbished Walter E. Disney Engine 1, which you can see above. Work is wrapping up on the new TRON roller coaster, which has recently started push/pull testing, so hopefully this attraction will be able to reopen soon as construction around this attraction enters its final phases.
7. Blizzard Beach
Dates: Now - TBA 2022
Blizzard Beach closed for refurbishment in January for regular maintenance and though many were hoping that this water park would reopen in time for the Spring Break holidays. It still doesn't look like we will see Disney's Blizzard Beach reopening anytime soon. Disney's official calendar currently still shows this park as closed until September 13, 2022 at the earliest but this could change.
Disney filed a permit to "install show items" which could imply that a new attraction is planned for Blizzard Beach. We have also seen construction vehicles and materials being delivered to a laydown yard situated near to the Downhill Double Dipper, Snow Stormers, and Toboggan Racers on the Purple Slopes and the Runoff Rapids on the Red Slopes.
A further permit was recently filed on July 21, for work to be done on the wave pool, Melt-Away Bay. The contractor is listed as Page Piping Inc to carry out construction work so we are assuming this means work is being done on the pipe work.
Fortunately, while Blizzard Beach continues to be closed, guests can visit Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. With further permits being filed and the summer disappearing rapidly we are becoming less and less hopeful of a reopening in 2022. We will keep you updated on further news about Blizzard Beach when it is announced.
