UPDATE May 13 - It has been confirmed, Universal's Classic Monsters Cafe has closed permanently at Universal Studios Florida. A spokesperson with Universal Orlando said in a statement, “Monster’s Café has closed to make way for a new dining experience. More details will be shared at a later time – stay tuned to our website for updates.” The Universal's Classic Monsters Cafe opened in 1998 and has been a fan favorite dining spot for many guests.
We are expecting to hear news in the near future of what Universal plans to replace this with and based on rumors it seems like the Minions are the most likely, due to its proximity to the existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction and the former Shrek 4-D site. The former Shrek 4-D site is rumored to be getting a Minions based walk through attraction based on The Villiage-Con supervillian convention which features in the 2015 Minions film. Creating a new dining location with Minions at the heart would certainly seem to make sense but Universal has still not confirmed this. We will keep you posted with further updates as soon as they are announced.

May 9 - There is a rumor online that the Universal Studio's Classic Monsters Cafe will become a Minions Cafe when the new rumored Minions attraction opens in place of Shrek 4-D.
I get what you are thinking, there are a lot of rumors here but it would appear to make sense for this change as the Classic Monsters Cafe is located next to the existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction and the former Shrek 4-D site.

We already know that the Universal Classic Monsters will have a complete land all to themselves in the upcoming Epic Universe Park which is confirmed to be opening Summer 2025.
Do you think it is a good idea for a Minions Cafe to replace the existing Universal Monsters Cafe? Would you be sad to see the current Universal Monsters cafe go? Let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment below or on our Facebook page.
