Universal's Escape room, Universal

Universal's Great Movie Escape at Universal CityWalk officially opened on Friday December 9 with tickets originally going on sale through the official website priced from $49.99 per person or $300 for a private room for up to a group of 8 guests.

After less than two months of being open, Universal has made the decision to considerably cut the price of the tickets with single tickets now on sale from $39.99 per person and $240 for a private room for up to a group of 8 guests. This is certainly not a great start for Universal's Great Movie Escape but is definitely good news for guests wanting to experience these two escape rooms on offer.

We heard back in June 2022 that Universal's Great Movie Escape at Universal CityWalk will feature two "escape adventures" based on the two iconic films Jurassic World and Back to the Future. This got fans of these classic films very excited.

Back to the Future: OUTATIME sees Biff stealing Doc Brown's time machine to use it for his own gain. He must be stopped! Follow the clues before you are outatime. Jurassic World: Escape is set in a secret genetics lab on Isla Nublar where a serious problem must be solved as a dangerous predator has escaped and is heading your way.

Universal's Great Movie Escape is located in the former place of the now permenantly closed The Groove.

We expected these escape room experiences to be an amazing opportunity for Universal and to be a big hit with guests as it has given Universal the chance to bring back classic themes which are so sorely missed by avid fans. Based on the recent decision for Universal to dramatically cut the ticket prices it gives the impression that these experiences have not been as popular as we once thought that they would be.

Have you experienced one or both of the escape rooms at Universal's Great Movie Escape at Universal CityWalk? Which theme do you think was best? Which theme would you choose, Jurassic Park or Back to the Future if you went? At least if you do decide to go now it won't be as expensive!
