Finding Nemo, Disney

UPDATE (May 7) - Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond! is set to have a large new LED video wall as a backdrop to the reimagined show. This will be used in conjunction with the physical sets. Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro has released the first photo showing this LED wall along with the stage and cast on his Instagram page which is embedded below. We are still waiting for an official start date for Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond!

UPDATE (May 5) - Hype is building for the opening of 'Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond!' Reporter Scott Gustin tweeted further details of what we can expect from the show when it opens this summer. We already knew that the show takes place after the Finding Dory film and we now know the story will be told through the eyes of the Tank Gang who appear in a post-credits scene at the end of the film. Gill, Bubbles, Peach, Deb, Bloat, Jacque and Gurgle appear in their bags in the ocean and are then scooped up by employees of the Marine Life Institute.

The theater will be themed to the Marine Life Institute and will have physical sets including the sunken submarine which is 32-foot-long and a 15-foot-tall fish tank volcano. The back drop will consist of a LED video wall which will project scenes and compliment the physical sets.

April 23 - We learnt back in September 2021 that a reimagined Finding Nemo: The Musical show based on the same beloved characters named, 'Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond!', would debut in 2022. We know that the show will return this summer at Disney's Animal Kingdom and rehearsals started on Monday March 28.

We have been given further details as to what to expect from 'Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond!' which will be a fully updated 25-minute show featuring fan-favorite songs such as 'In the Big Blue World' and 'Go with the Flow'.

The show will include a new script with live performers and puppets and new scenic set pieces including a LED video wall and a 32-foot-long sunken submarine and fish tank volcano which is said to be nearly 15-feet tall.

Disney has released a video to give us a first glimpse of what we can expect from the new show. This video is embedded below. As you can see the story will start at the Marine Life Institute from the film 'Finding Dory' where the fish have been rescued and are now ready to be released back into the ocean. Before they go they share the story of 'Finding Nemo'.

We still haven't got a confirmed opening date for the debut of Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond! just yet but we will keep you up to date with further announcements on our news and Facebook page.
