UPDATE (March 13) - Disney has officially announced the height restriction for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind as 42 inches. The attraction is labelled as being for kids, tweens, teens and adults on the official website. It sits in between Big Thunder Mountain which has a height restriction of 40 inches and Expedition Everest at 44 inches.
UPDATE (March 12) - Further photos have been released by Disney Imagineer, Zach Riddley on Instagram showing the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind load station. We are really beginning to get a feel for what guests are going to experience at the start of this upcoming attraction. The Instagram post is embedded below for you to have a look at:
The wait for the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has seemed like a relentless one. We found out in November 2021 that the attraction will officially open at EPCOT this Summer.
We are still waiting for an exact opening date although recently a leaked date of Memorial Day Weekend (May 30, 2022). was tweeted and then deleted. There has still not been a confirmed opening date from Disney as of yet.
We reported yesterday that Disney Imagineer, Zach Riddley posted two photos on Instagram to give us a sneak peek inside the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind building to look at the load station where guests will step aboard a Nova Corps ship and then into their Starjumper vehicles to take off with the Guardians of the Galaxy on a race through time and space.
As we said, we are promised more sneak previews of this highly anticipated upcoming attraction at EPCOT in the next couple of months as Disney gears up for the official opening this Summer.
We now have a video to share with you which has been posted to Disney Parks Tik Tok page which shows the coaster leaving the station. The train is called an omnicoaster, similar to the omnimover of the Haunted Mansion in that the cars can move. The only difference with the omnicoaster is that it is just that, a coaster where all cars are attached together rather than being separate units.
