Downtown Disney reimagining, Disney

It was announced at Destination D23 back in November 2021 by Chairperson of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Josh D’Amaro that the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland will be reimagined during a multi-year project.

This new reimagining has been described by Disney as, "Drawing inspiration from Southern California mid-century modern architecture, the area will be a beautiful blend of vibrant color palettes, multi-cultural design elements and patterns, an open lawn for relaxation and future events, and an even broader collection of dining and shopping."

The open lawn green area is set to be the beginning of the Disneyland monorail and will add natural beauty to the newly reimagined area.

This reimagining is now under way with the closure of Earl of Sandwich, Sugarboo & Co, and Starbucks. There have been tweets this week showing the demolition of the AMC Theatres building.

There hasn't been a proposed opening date for this project as of yet. Let us know what you think about this planned reimagining for Downtown Disney District at Disneyland on our news and Facebook page.
