Walt Disney World, Disney

We can hardly believe it has been so long but indeed it is true, the Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since the beginning of 2019, that's three years!

Although no official reopening date has still been given as of yet, we are expecting it will open at some point this year. It has been closed for such an extensive period due to the construction of the upcoming TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Disney fans have been inevitably upset about the extended closure of this iconic attraction at Disney's Magic Kingdom but yesterday there has been another sighting of the infamous train testing as seen in the tweet which is embedded below.

If we continue to see testing this could mean that an opening could be on the cards soon. We know that work on TRON Lightcycle / Run has been progressing well and we are hoping that an official opening date announcement won't be far off. Whether we will see an opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run this year or in 2023 remains to be seen but if construction will soon be nearing completion then there surely won't be any reason why Walt Disney World Railroad can't get back on track and start making its iconic journey around Disney's Magic Kingdom once more.

I suppose that is unless Disney are waiting to reopen Walt Disney World Railroad at the same time at TRON Lightcycle / Run. I guess all we can do is wait and see but continued testing has definitely got to be a step in the right direction.
