7.  Shrek 4-D closing permanently in 2022

Universal has confirmed that the Shrek 4-D attraction will close permanently in January 2022 along with this attraction's attached gift shop. The meet Shrek and Donkey experience will continue to operate daily after this closure.

8. Mardi Gras to return in 2022 with parade and concerts

Though Universal Studios Florida played host to a modified Mardi Gras celebration in 2021, it looks like this event will be back in full swing in 2022 for the first time since 2019, with both the parade and the concerts now confirmed to be returning on select nights! 

9. Revenge of the Mummy getting extensive refurbishment in 2022

Revenge of the Mummy will be closing for a near 8-month refurbishment in 2022, beginning January 7 and lasting untill late summer 2022/
