Though Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida closed in early 2021 for a quick refurbishment that included several visual projection and sound upgrades, it looks like another, more substantial refurbishment has been penciled in for 2022.
It has been confirmed that Revenge of the Mummy will be closed for a lengthy refurbishment beginning January 7 and will remain closed for most of next year, with a reopening currently projected to happen in late summer 2022.
No details about what to expect during this eight-month (or longer) refurbishment, but with such a long closure on the books, we'd guess some major behind-the-scenes work will be done involving the track, show scenes, or both.
This news comes on the heels of the announcement that Shrek 4-D will be closing permanently at Universal Studios Florida next year. Will you be heading to Universal Orlando Resort before the end of the year to experience these attractions one last time?
