Though it was initially slated to open later this year, the grand opening of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel "experience" has been officially delayed to 2022. Though this may be a little bit of a bummer, with Disney still keeping to health and safety guidelines like distancing, masking etc., this move is one that unfortunately does make sense. In the meantime however, Disney has released footage of a "real" lightsaber that guests visiting the hotel will be able to see. You can check it out below:
Disney has said that guests who "experience" Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be the first to see this new technology "in action", which likely means that this lightsaber will be a part of the entertainment or "story" elements of the hotel.
Disney also announced today that one of the dining choices for guests aboard the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be the Crown of Corellia Dining Room, which will offer breakfast and lunch daily to passengers before transitioning each evening into a lavish multi-course menu of both otherworldly and familiar origins. In addition, one night’s dinner will feature a live performance from a galactic superstar who can captivate an entire room with the crook of her jewel-encrusted purple Twi’lek finger.
Of course, the big question surrounding this project is how much a stay at this facility will cost. Disney has confirmed that this experience will feature "all inclusive" pricing where guests pay one price that covers their room, meals, admission, and entertainment for a special two-day adventure "aboard" the Galactic Starcuiser. Some have speculated that this experience could cost upwards of $1000 per guest, but right now nothing is known for sure about how Disney will price this new experience.
