Spider-Bots Disneyland

Though 2020 was supposed to see the opening of the Marvel-themed (but not Marvel-named) Avengers Campus, this project's opening has been delayed until sometime in 2021, due to the ongoing shutdown of Disneyland Resort's theme parks. However, even though it will be a long time before we are able to experience this new land, Disney has announced that merchandise from this resort will be available at the Downtown Disney shopping district beginning next week.

Disneyland Annual Passholders will be among the first to be able to pick up Avengers Campus merchandise during a limited-quantity pre-sale event from November 30 through December 3. More information will be available on the Annual Passholder Facebook page beginning tomorrow, November 25.

One of the most hotly-anticipated items that will be a part of this merchandise event, will be Spider-Bots, which are replications of the little robots that run amok in the WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure attraction that is set to debut along with Avengers Campus sometime next year. Spider-Bots can battle opponents with programmed combat and defensive abilities, and can crawl backward and forward, crouch, spin 360°, stare down with their laser eyes, attack opponent Spider-Bots and even blast off their shields. You can learn more about these fun little guys in the video below:

No official information is available thus far about how much these little guys will cost, but assuming they use the same technology as the build-your-own droids at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge we'd guess they'd be somewhere between $100 - $200.
