Universal Studios Florida surprised guests today with the opening of a new Beetlejuice house at the park. Though this opening was not announced on social media, it had been rumored for weeks, and guests showed up in droves, flooding the park and filling the virtual line to capacity in minutes after park opening.
Though this is a very limited-time experience, Universal confirmed this morning that the Beetlejuice house will be available Sunday too. While the move was certainly instantly popular with guests at the theme park today, many annual passholders expressed disappointment online after Universal sent them an email advising to stay away this weekend, and then opened a limited time experience for guests.
While nothing has been confirmed, some believe that Universal is opening Beetlejuice this weekend in an effort to retain the rights to this IP for an additional year so the house can "officially" debut at Halloween Horror Nights 2021, which already has had its first house announced.
Hopefully this is the case, as opening a high-profile IP-based house for just two days seems like a strange choice otherwise, but right now this is just rumor. We'll let you know if any official announcement is made though!
