Magic Kingdom Cinderella Castle 50th Anniversary

Though we're heading in to the home stretch of 2020, Walt Disney World is looking towards the future and is now booking reservations through December 31, 2021. In addition, Disney Parks Pass reservations, which are now required for entry to any Walt Disney World theme park are now available through January 2022.

And though guests can now plan their Walt Disney World visit through the end of next year, there are still a lot of unknowns regarding what the next 15 months will look like. Disney CEO Bob Chapek stated that the Walt Disney World theme parks were still capped at 25% capacity and will remain at that level until CDC guidelines change, and we'd imagine that this means that the Disney Parks Pass will be in use for a long time to come. However, many are wondering if the park hopping feature could return sometime in the future, as you can purchase a Park Hopper add on for select dates in 2021. And though it could be tough for Disney to enforce single park capacity if park hopping returns, if they keep the current park caps in place, allowing guests to move between parks could be a soft way to introduce more guests gradually next year.

Another big question mark about next year is with regard to the Disney Dining Plan, which still remains unavailable for guests booking vacations through December 2021. Though restaurants have been reopening all across Walt Disney World, capacity caps for restaurants to allow for adequate spacing are still in place, and until Disney can safely accomodate more guests, we'd guess this popular add-on will remain unavailable.

As of right now, plans for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary are still on, with both Tron Lightcycle Power/Run and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure expected to open next year, along with some limited time fun. Originally, Epcot's Harmonious nighttime spectacular was supposed to open before next year's big celebration, and time will tell if we'll see it in time for the 50th, but for right now construction on this project is moving right along

There are definitely a lot of unknowns when it comes to Walt Disney Wold visits in 2021, but with next year being an anniversary year for the resort, it seems likely that many will be trying to visit the resort, despite at least some restrictions being in place.
