Although it was officially announced that Carowinds would remain closed for the remainder of 2020 there are rumors on social media that Carowinds may reopen for a modified WinterFest this year.

The State of North Carolina has now moved into Phase 3 of their reopening plans which allows theme parks, movie theaters and other attractions to open so a reopening for Carowinds is now a possibility. 

On October 10, 2020 on the Cedar Fair website there has been a list of jobs posted for Carowinds. These include a range of positions including admissions, food & beverage, games, park services, ride operations and security as well as a range of hotel staff vacancies. If a March 2021 reopening for Carowinds is planned then these jobs appear to have been advertised very early.

Screamscape also reports that on the Carowinds webcam after dark there appears to be what looks like Christmas lighting on top of many buildings.

There hasn't been any official announcement as of yet from Cedar Fair regarding this rumor but it is potentially very exciting news for Carowinds fans. We will keep you posted on any official announcements regarding the reopening of Carowinds on our News and Facebook pages.
