Last weekend Universal Orlando Resort hosted a limited-time "test"  that included Halloween offerings at both Universal parks including a slimmed down Halloween Horror Nights experience with guests able to enjoy two of this year's planned haunted houses at Universal Studios Florida and Trick-or-Treating  at Islands of Adventure. And while Universal might have been cagey at first about the prospects for continuing to provide Halloween-related entertainment throughout the season, after reaching capacity early in the morning on both Saturday and Sunday, it seemed like only a matter of time before these experiences were extended.

And now we know that Universal will indeed be bringing these seasonal experiences back, beginning with another limited engagement this weekend (September 26-27) and then every day from October 3 through November 1. Right now the offerings are set to remain exactly the same, with the Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives and Revenge of the Tooth Fairy operating at Universal Studios Florida, and trick-or-treating in Islands of Adventure happening on event days. In addition, a special scavenger hunt for a sweet prize is happening daily at Universal Studios Florida, special spooky food and drink options will be available throughout the resort, and for the first time guests are being encouraged to wear costumes to the resort.

As a reminder, houses at Universal Studios Florida are being socially distanced, which means the following measures will be in place:

  • Virtual Line will be used for the haunted houses, and guests can use the official Universal Orlando Resort app to choose a return time.
  • Plexiglass will be installed in various areas to keep guests distanced from scareactors.
  • The use of hand sanitizer will be required before entering each haunted house, and will be available upon exit.
  • Capacity will be limited to allow for appropriate distancing between parties.

Because the Virtual Line has been filling up within minutes of park opening, we'd recommend arriving at the park as early as possible to secure your spot if you want to experience these two houses.
