Super Nintendo World, Universal Studios Japan

In recent weeks the excitement for the highly anticipated Super Nintendo World has ramped up with Universal Studios Japan releasing video footage of the land as it currently stands. With an original proposed opening date of summer 2020 to coincide with the Tokyo Olympics the land is now basically complete.

Although Universal Studios Japan has reopened and is welcoming guests, there still hasn't been an official announcement as to when Super Nintendo World will open. Right now it is delayed until further notice due to COVID-19.

One of the headlining attractions will be the Mario Kart ride which we now know will be called Mario Kart Koopa's Challenge. It will feature your favorite levels and characters from Mario Kart as well as multiple tracks and individual steering wheels for each of the four riders per car.

Yoshi's Adventure ride will be an omnimover dark ride attraction and will include indoor and outdoor sections. It is promised to be an amazing treasure hunt packed full of fun. The land will be crammed full of interactive experiences that will make guests feel immersed in all their favorite Nintendo games. With your special Mario magnetic wristband, given to guests when entering Super Nintendo World, you can keep track of your scores on all the interactive games and those that have a Nintendo home console can then sync back to it and continue the adventure.

Universal Studios Japan has released another video, this time 19 minutes long which gives you a detailed look at the land as it currently stands by day and by night. If its goal is to get fans excited about this up and coming land then it certainly delivers.

The theming looks amazing and when this highly anticipated land finally does open, surely it is going to wow every fan that is lucky enough to visit. Universal Studios Japan will be the first Universal theme park to host Super Nintendo World but there were plans for Orlando, Hollywood and Singapore. Due to the longer term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have all got to keep our fingers crossed that these plans will one day come to fruition.

We will keep you up to date with all the latest developments from Universal Studios Japan as well as theme park news from Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, the rest of the US and beyond on our News and Facebook pages.
