Shortcut, Howl-O-Scream Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

It is getting to that time of year when Halloween is just around the corner and for many theme park fans it would usually have been one of your top priorities to get Halloween Horror Nights tickets booked. As we already know, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort has been cancelled for 2020 and Universal has just officially announced a slimmed down daytime event. For those of you still hungry for night time scares, don't despair as Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will be kicking off very soon.

Theme park fans looking for halloween thrills and chills will be excited to hear that Busch Gardens have now announced the finer details for their modified 2020 Howl-O-Scream event which is being hosted on eighteen nights, Friday to Sunday from September 25 - Novemeber 1, 2020. This is a separated ticketed evening event starting at 7:00pm and finishing at 12:00am Fridays and Saturdays and 11:00pm on Sundays. Single-night tickets are available from $29.99 and allow entry to the park from 5:00pm.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has announced that the event will host ten scare mazes and with an inevitable focus on health and safety and physical distancing, these ten terrifying scare zones will be spaced throughout the park. There will be four all new zones and on the official press release it states that "guests will experience the heart-pounding fear of NEW horrors as they dash between thrilling rollercoasters and the fan-favorite Fiends show".

As well fan favorites from previous years including First Fear, Little Nightmares, Maniac Midway, Deadly Toys, Hell on Wheels and Dia De Los Muertos, guests visiting Howl-O-Scream this year can look forward to the following four new scare mazes:

  • Lycan Landing: Set at a campground where there is always a full moon, there are thrills when the campfires burn out and the park rangers can't hear your screams. There is no guarantee you will escape the cursed fate of those that are glaring at you from within the trees.
  • The Shortcut: Not the best idea to take a shortcut through this cemetery, the corpses rise from the ground and the last thing you will want to do is have to accept an invitation to their graves.
  • The Junkyard: This isn't just any normal junkyard but one with haunted rubble and unsavory things lurking. Making it out of there in one piece is going to be very difficult.
  • The Escape: The inmates of Grey Echo Penitentiary seek justice and as you can imagine this isn't going to be a pleasant experience. What will your sentence be?

As you can tell from the list above, this event is not intended for children, masks have to be worn throughout the event and costumes are not permitted.
