Jurassic World, Universal

Okay, so there are lots of maybes regarding new attraction openings at the moment. Majority of the new attractions planned to open this year have been postponed until 2021 or beyond. But, all is not lost, we have seen lots of exciting construction photos in recent weeks which is excellent news.

Our last big debate asked the question, will you visit Walt Disney World in 2021? With 53% of voters saying "yes" and a further 30% saying "maybe" depending on the COVID-19 cases and measures in place, it looks like attendance will be on the way up and that theme park magic that we all so desperately need and love will hopefully be properly back on the menu.

We know all too well the long list of projects that have unfortunately been officially cancelled, delayed or slimmed down due to the impact of COVID-19. Our next big debate involves two massive new coasters that are on the horizon and I can't wait to see which one comes out as victor.

It is a head to head, Disney Vs Universal, Universal Vs Disney. It's simple, you have one vote, which will it be?...

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

This new attraction inspired, surprisingly enough by Guardians of the Galaxy (the clue's in the name), will be located in Future World at Epcot and will repurpose much of the original Universe of Energy building. A new ride system has been created for this attraction and guests are promised elevated coaster trains that conceal track underneath. The trains will also be able to spin 360 degrees to face screens during the ride and can move independently. And, wait for it, there will be a backwards launch, which is a first for a Disney Coaster.

I know I am super excited about this one, but before you make your choice, over at Universal, something is stirring...

Jurassic Park Coaster

With no name officially confirmed yet, Jurassic Park Coaster is located at Universal Islands of Adventure and is set to be packed full of twists and turns and thrills for every guest that chooses to ride.

I was born in the 1980s, Jurassic Park is part of my childhood, as soon as I hear the iconic theme tune I am transported there. I am sure it will be the same for so many of our readers.

We know that this ride will be a multi-launch rollercoaster and will include a top hot element. It will be crammed full of theming including rock work and greenery and recently what looked like a wrapped raptor was seen being craned into the attraction space.
