Mask Requirements

Busch Gardens

Mandatory mask wearing for all guests over 2 years old is likely to prove to be contentious with many guests wanting to visit Busch Gardens Tampa Bay when it reopens on June 11, but is one of the main safety measures being implemented not only at this park but also at Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando.

It does state that "Guests are not required to wear them while eating and drinking, or in designated relaxation areas of the park." No other details have been given so far as to where these will be and how guests can access them.

UPDATE - News from the Annual Passholder Preview Day At Universal Orlando Resort has seen that Universal have implemented “U-Rest” areas, certain areas in the park that are designated as relaxation areas. The signage on the entrance to the U-Rest area read:

"You may remove your face covering while in this area, Be safe and practice social distancing, for the health and safety of our Guests and Team Members. Keep 6 feet (2 meters) between your travel party and other Guests."

Although this has not been confirmed yet, it seems likely that something similar will be implemented at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay when it reopens. This will surely come as welcome news for many guests who have voiced concerns about mask wearing but on the flip side may anger those who think masks should be worn at all times (apart from when eating and drinking). We will have to wait to find out more on this.

To read the list of safety guidelines visit Busch Garden Tampa Bay's official website where you can also find a Frequently Asked Questions page (located at the bottom of the page). As mentioned earlier, it clearly says below the FAQ link that "GUIDELINES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON COUNTY GUIDELINES."
