Once again, all eyes are on Disney Springs this week, as all Disney-owned Disney Springs locations, including World of Disney, Co-Op Marketplace, D-Luxe Burger, The Ganachery and more will be reopening this Wednesday, May 27, 2020. However, though this will bring Disney Springs more or less up to a full opening, there are several locations at this shopping and dining district that are still closed indefinitely:
1. Rainforest Cafe
Though Landry's-owned T-REX Cafe is currently open for business, across the resort the Rainforest Cafe has still not reopened. Though no reason was given for this restaurant staying shuttered, owner Landry's may be having issues finding adequate staff after suspending all of its employees without pay back in March, or could be trying to cut costs as the restaurant company is still going through extreme financial hardship. However, whatever the reason, this location does not have a reopening target date on the Disney Springs website, and remains shuttered indefinitely for now.
2. Drawn to Life - Cirque du Soleil
Though it was set to debut back in March, it has been officially announced that Cirque Du Soleil has suspended and postponed the Drawn to Life show at Disney Springs indefinitely. Cirque du Soleil has said that ticket holders will be refunded at their point of purchase for this show, and have not offered a date for a potentially postponed debut. And while restrictions are still in pace for mass, indoor gatherings, we do not anticipate that this show will be able to debut in 2020, if at all.
3. House of Blues Restaurant and Bar
Right across from Cirque du Soleil, another performing arts venue, the House of Blues, also remains shuttered. However, in addition to the performance area being closed, it looks like the attached shop and restaurant area are also shuttered for the foreseeable future as there are no hours listed for either on the Disney Springs website.
