Shanghai Disney

Though theme parks in the United States are bracing for impacts from Coronavirus, it looks like Disney is getting ready to partially reopen Shanghai Disney Resort almost two months after its initial closure, as they have began a phased reopening effective this week

Though the theme park remains closed indefinitely, as of yesterday, a limited number of shopping, dining, and recreational experiences are available in Disneytown, Wishing Star Park, and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel. Each of these locations will operate with reduced hours and offer limited capacity. The Disney Car and Coach Park will also reopen, along with the Disneytown Parking Lot.

According to an official statement from Shanghai Disney Resort there are several measures being taken to protect guests and Cast Members who visit the resort during this reopening, including the following:

  • Strict and comprehensive approaches on sanitization, disinfection and cleanliness.
  • Every guest entering Shanghai Disney Resort will be required to undergo temperature screening procedures upon their arrival, will need to present their Health QR Code when entering dining venues, and will be required to wear a mask during their entire visit.
  • Guests will also be reminded to maintain respectful social distances at all times while in stores, queues and restaurants.

Currently, there is no information about when a theme park reopening could happen, but we should know more information soon as this situation develops. Up-to-date hours for Disneytown and Wishing Star Park during this phased opening can be found either inside the official resort app, or at the official website here.
