4. Cinderella Castle getting gold makeover this summer

Image: Disney

Instead of doing a massive reimagining for Cinderella Castle, this latest update will be very subtle, with the icon getting gold trim enhancements on windows and turrets as well as over its classic archway. In addition, the blue turret tops will be getting a fresh coat of paint and the upper 2/3 of the castle will be getting a bit of a pinkish tint as well, as you can see in the concept art above, released earlier this week by Disney.

5. Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Live! to return this summer

It has been confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! will be returning to Epcot this summer. This  show, which features Star-Lord and Gamora from the Guardians of the Galaxy films taking guests on a musical journey through the cosmos featuring  hits from Star-Lord’s Awesome Mix tapes, will debut just in time for the summer travel season (likely in June) and will run right up until The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is set to return in August.

6. Star Wars: A Galaxy Far Far Away now closed at Disney's Hollywood Studios

After nearly four years, the Star Wars A Galaxy Far, Far Away stage show had its last performance ever this week at Disney's Hollywood Studios. No replacement show is expected to come any time soon to the center stage area of the park, which should help with crowd traffic to Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, which is opening in just a few days!
