Disney parks are constantly changing their refurbishment schedules, making it difficult for guests to keep up with the operating times and latest news regarding their favorite attractions, resorts, shops, and restaurants. Here are a few big, upcoming changes that are either confirmed by their respective parks or at the least very strongly rumored for the very near future
This month's refurbishment update includes several short "off season" refurbishments at the Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios, plus a multi-year refurbishment gets a small update!
1. MuppetVision 3D (Disney's Hollywood Studios)
Status: Confirmed
Dates: Now - February 9, 2020
MuppetVision 3D is now closed for a brief refurbishment that will last through to February 8, with a planned reopening to guests on February 9 2020. During this refurbishment the Grand Arts theater that houses this show will be getting new seats and curtains.
2. Swiss Family Treehouse (Magic Kingdom)
Status: Confirmed
Dates: April 27 - May 3, 2020
The Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse will be going down for a brief refurbishment this spring beginning on April 27 and lasting through May 3, 2020. The attraction is expected to reopen to Guests on May 4, 2020.
3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Magic Kingdom)
Status: Confirmed
Dates: May 4 -21, 2020
The day after the Swiss Family Treehouse's refurbishment, Magic Kingdom favorite Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closing for a short refurbishment from May 4 to May 21, 2020. The attraction is expected to reopen on May 22, 2020.
