As the countdown to Disneyland’s January opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance draws near, there has been a lot of new and exciting news coming from the resort, including an exciting announcement about the future of Tomorrowland plus an intriguing new development that could point to the further growth of the Disneyland Resort in the near future...
A new DVC property could be coming soon to Disneyland Resort
It's no secret that Disney Vacation Club is expanding at a rapid pace at Walt Disney World. However, according to a new report in the Los Angeles Times, Disney may be looking to grow its timeshare offerings with a brand new property at the Disneyland Resort in the near future.
Now that Disney's plan to bring a luxury hotel to Disneyland has been dead for over a year (reportedly due to issues with the local government), the company is moving on to the next big thing, and has submitted plans this past week to build a 350-unit DVC property right next to the iconic Disneyland Hotel. The application filed with the city of Anaheim describes this new hotel as a 12-story, 280,000-square-foot property that will be built on land that is currently being used by backstage facilities.
Of course, this isn't exactly a sure thing yet as this project will require a partnership with the City of Anaheim, and both Disney and the local government will have to come to terms before this new proposed hotel project gets the official green light, but hopefully these two groups can work together this time to bring more rooms for DVC Members to the Disneyland Resort in the near future!
