Though it may not initially seem like it, Disney parks have truly come into their own in recent years as a real food lover’s paradise. If you count yourself as one of the many who love eating their way around the Disney  parks and resorts, there are some big changes taking effect right now you should know about.

For October's second dining update (you can read the first one here), Disney's Hollywood Studios quickly removes an unpopular dining change from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Epcot debuts a new custom drink location, mobile order hits more restaurants, plus Disney shuts down its phone reservation system.

1. Disney reverses theming change at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Late last week quick service eatery Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo updated its menu to feature more straightforward food names, removing all of the Star Wars theming from the menu. So, instead of wondering what Braised Shaak Roast, Smoked Kaadu Ribs or Roasted Endorian Tip-Yip Salad are, guests will now simply order Beef Pot Roast, Smoked Pork Ribs or a Roasted Chicken Salad.

However, this change was met with a LOT of criticism online, with many saying changes like this don't work with the overall theme of this immersive new land. However, it looks like Disney has reversed this controversial decision, and as of this week, the "in-universe" dish names are back on the menu!

2. Mobile Order expands at Disney Resort Hotels

Though Mobile Order was rolled out at all Walt Disney World theme parks almost simultaneously over a year ago, this service has been a bit slower to come to Disney's resort hotel. However, as of this week. this service has rolled out at several additional Walt Disney World resort eateries, including the following:

  • Capt. Cook's at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • The Artist's Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
  • Landscape of Flavors at Disney's Art of Animation Resort
  • Riverside Mill Food Court at Disney's Port Orleans Resort
  • Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort
