It's no secret that Disney's Hollywood Studios has gone through a lot of changes over the past few years, with this park changing its theme, getting rid of tons of attractions, and getting rid of its icon not once, but twice in the last few years. And though we've said goodbye to iconic pieces of this park before like the Sorcerer's Hat and the "Earful" Tower, it looks like another part of this park's history is set to be demolished in the near future.
Disney's Hollywood Studios old entrance to be demolished
Though it was previously announced that the iconic “film strip” entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios near World Drive would be demolished at some point now that the park is using the brand new entrance off Victory Way (near the Art of Animation and Pop Century resorts), it has been confirmed that demolition work will begin on this old entrance starting next week
This iconic part of Disney's Hollywood Studios had been an easily recognizable part of the park for several decades, and evoked the park's former focus on "old" Hollywood styles and the making of movies. However, now that this park has a different focus and an updated entrance, this old entrance is finally headed for the dustbin.
Animation Courtyard sign also set to be "reimagined" soon
Though the destruction of the Disney's Hollywood Studios old entrance was something we expected, one change that was announced earlier this year that took us by surprise was the addition of a new sign in front of the Animation Courtyard, showcasing the characters that are now a big part of the park. This sign was unveiled during the 30th anniversary celebration of Disney's Hollywood Studios, and though we don't know exactly when this new sign will debut, hopefully we'll learn more about when we can expect this updated sign to replace the current Disney's Hollywood Studios sign in front of the Animation Courtyard.
