September was already a brutal month for Walt Disney World fans, as it saw the closing of Club Cool, Colortopia, the Fountain of Nations, and several character meet and greets at Epcot. And though we still have several more cuts coming this month (Mickey's Surprise Celebration is ending September 30th, meaning no more long lost friends at the Magic Kingdom and IllumiNations is coming to a close on September 30), Disney has announced a new round of entertainment cuts that will be taking effect in just a few days.
1. The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History
The Muppets Present...Great Moments in History has been a fixture of Liberty Square since it debuted back in 2016, and has been a fan favorite for guests, who line up every day across from the Hall of Presidents at the Heritage House building to see these beloved characters act out some of the most iconic moments in American history. However, it looks like guests only have until the end of the month to see this fun show, as Disney's official times guide does not list performances beyond September 30. Sadly, this show is not expected to return.
2. The Royal Majesty Makers
Another Magic Kingdom entertainment offering, the Royal Majesty Makers (which is a troop of characters that roam around Fantasyland including retired knight Sir Sterling, his niece Bridget, squire Tobias and Lady Llewellyn), will be ending their appearances at the Magic Kingdom also in the next few weeks. These original characters are also not expected to return.
3. Movie it! Shake it! Parade to reduce performances
The most recent iteration of the Move It! Shake It! Mousekedance It! Street Parade is also being scaled down in the next few weeks, and will be offered twice a day, beginning early next month. However, the good news here is that, if you are able to still catch this parade, the format is not expected to change as a result of these cutbacks.
