2019 is going to be a big one at Walt Disney World, with at least a dozen new attractions opening over the next 12 months, including Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge this fall. And though we're very excited for the year ahead, in an attempt to ward off any drops in attendance early in the year Disney has announced some new discounts and deals for 2019 that guests can now take advantage of!

If you are thinking about going to a Disney park in the near future (and especially if you are planning to stay on-property), here are some easy ways you can save some money that you should definitely know about!

1. Military Salute discount for 2019 announced

Active-duty or retired members of the U.S. military can now take advantage of the 2019 Military Salute discount at Walt Disney World, which is available now through December 19th, 2019. Unlike in years past, this discount is not date-specific, which is welcome news for those hoping to check out Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge later this year. There are also no blockout period for this year's Military Salute tickets either. Of course the catch here is that Military Members can only choose between a four or five day ticket, as smaller denominations are not available. However, with the deep discounts, in many cases the longer ticket lengths are worth it, even if service members can't use them to their full amount. Here's the savings breakdown:

  • Four-Day Park Hopper: $241 per person (for comparison, regular price for a four day park hopper is between $448 to $512)
  • Five-Day Park Hopper: $257 (Again, regular price varies from $465 to $530)

Members of the military who purchase these tickets can also upgrade to Park Hopper Plus, which includes admission to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach for $50 per ticket.

2. Annual Passholder discount available for Disney After Hours in 2019

Last year it was announced that Disney After Hours was expanding to 3 theme parks (only Epcot is left out ) and now it has been confirmed that Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can continue to enjoy their $30 per ticket discount at every Disney After Hours event. Here are all of the event dates broken down by park:

Magic Kingdom: January 7, 17, 24 & 28, February 7, 14, & 28, and March 7

Disney's Hollywood Studios: January 5, 12 and 19, February 2, 9 and 16, March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, and April 6 and 13.

Disney's Animal Kingdom: January 8, 16, 22 and 31, February 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 26, March 5, 20 and 27, and April 3.
