It’s the most wonderful time of the year, which means one thing: crowds are swelling at Walt Disney World! Even though almost every annual pass is blocked beginning this week and one-day tickets are much more expensive than usual, crowds have shown up in droves this holiday season with guests eager to celebrate at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
However, Disney has rolled out some new strategies to help with the crowds that have flooded the park this week, and will continue to do so through the season all the way through to New Year's Day, typically the busiest day of the year.
1. Strict parking rules will be enforced at select resorts
Though guests have had varying luck in recent months parking at Walt Disney World Resort hotels, the following hotels are closing their parking lots to all guests who do not have a reservation or confirmed dining reservation:
- Disney's Polynesian Resort
- Disney's Contemporary Resort
- Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
- Disney's Beach Club Resort
- Disney's Yacht Club Resort
- Disney's Boardwalk Resort
2. Additional Cast Members being deployed at the Magic Kingdom this holiday season
A new Guest Experience Team will be on hand at the Magic Kingdom Park during the holiday season beginning this week. These Cast Members will help Guests make the most of their day by proactively assisting guests with booking, modifying and recovering FastPass+ selections, navigating the My Disney Experience app, and using MagicBands. These special Cast Members will be wearing blue shirts, and will be stationed in Main Street USA, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Frontierland.
