Though the main draw at Walt Disney World is of course its world-class attraction, plenty of guests find shopping at the resort just as exhilarating (perhaps even more so!) as taking a spin on Space Mountain. However, if you're planning on visiting one of the many, many retail stores at Disney parks and resorts in the coming weeks, there are a few things you might want to know first...
1. Personal Shopping service now available for a limited time at Disney's Hollywood Studios
Though buying merchandise from Walt Disney World is easier than ever thanks to the Shop Disney Parks app, guests who would rather do their holiday shopping in person but don't want to run around the parks and resorts can now use a special limited-time Personal Shopping Service, which is now testing at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
From now until the end of the holiday season at the Mickey’s of Hollywood gift shop guests can take advantage of this new, complimentary service. Simply look for the personal shopper in the store (there are signs to follow), and give him or her your shopping list and he or she will do all the work for you, picking up each item on your list, ringing it up, and calling you when your order is ready so you can pay and pick up your packages. Interestingly, these personal shoppers can also get items from other parks delivered for free to Disney's Hollywood Studios to be put with your order.
So, if for instance, you want a t-shirt and Mickey ears from Disney's Hollywood Studios, but also a special limited edition Soarin' MagicBand, you can have the later item brought over from Epcot, and it will be sitting with your order at Disney's Hollywood Studios when it is all prepared.
In addition to picking up items, personal shoppers are also able to recommend gifts for guests who are doing holiday shopping and are stumped when it comes to the perfect gift.
